Tibor - Standard Series

Tibor reels were first introduced in 1995 and have established themselves as the gold standard of fly reels. After years of development and input from the likes of Lefty Kreh and Flip Pallot, Ted was finally satisfied with a reel that truly has set a new standard in fly fishing reel technology. The spool’s large arbor design significantly enhances the rate of line retrieval which is critical when you’re trying to control speedsters like Bonefish, Bonito or Wahoo. Tibor reels are also a mainstay for Spey enthusiasts, delivering the ultimate balance, overall capacity and drag performance for the double handed rod. Tibor - Light Series

Ted Juracsik launched his freshwater Tibor Light® series in 1999, to the delight of trout, bass and other light fly anglers. This series now features the ConstaLube (CL) System, an innovative drag design composed of a special felt and lubricant, producing constant lubrication for a totally smooth drag throughout the entire range of resistance. The Tibor Light Spring Creek CL, Tail Water CL and Back Country CL Wide are designed with the same uncompromising standards as our time-tested Billy Pate and Tibor series. Suitable for 3 to 9 weight rods in both fresh and saltwater conditions, even the most fragile tippet can be fished with complete confidence. Their quality construction, watch-like precision and superb drag system will deliver unmatched performance against anything from an 8 inch Brook Trout to a 30 lb. Tarpon.

Special Features

• Made from solid aluminum bar stock and has very few parts – ensuring dependable, trouble-free operation.
• Features a drag that cannot be set excessively tight – yet the spool won’t over-run if you pull line rapidly from it. This prevents the fragile leader tippets from breaking.

Tibor - Bill Pate Series

The year 1976 was a hallmark period for the fly fishing world. It was the year that Ted Juracsik introduced the first Billy Pate Anti-Reverse Tarpon Reel. This series now includes three anti-reverse models, for rod weights 6-12. No other reel has matched the Billy Pate’s durability and dependability, day in day out, year after year, regardless of conditions, locale or species. This precision piece of equipment is designed and constructed to withstand the most demanding fly fishing environments. As with all reels that leave Ted’s shop, the Billy Pate is virtually maintenance free. While there are over 200 World Records that attest to its performance, you don’t have to be interested in records to appreciate this reel. If you know your fly fishing history, you know this is the reel that set the hook.

Abel Super Series

SUPER SERIES LARGE ARBOR

2008 marks the 13th year Abel has made Large Arbor reels. During those years we have developed the perfect ratio of arbor (hub) size to the overall spool. Too big a hub and there ’s not enough backing capacity; too small and you ’ve defeated the purpose of a large arbor spool.

Super Series reels sizes 6 and larger are built with a Double Pawl System. There are a number of advantages to the Abel double pawl – increased reliability and back-uup strength to name two. The Double Pawl System changed our sound . . . going from click click click click to something more like clickclickclickclick. Think of a fine Swiss watch.

All Super Series reels are ported (ventilated) using a design that maintains total strength and rigidity in the metal.

TROUT REELS / TR SERIES

TR/Series reels are precision machined in the U.S.A. from 6061-T6 cold finished aluminum in three sizes to accommodate 0- to 6-weight lines. Hang one on a bamboo or new graphite rod.

The state-of-the-art fully enclosed internal click drag system with two adjustable hex nuts gives you a virtually unlimited range of control of both incoming and outgoing click, plus rim control.

The result is the best traditional trout, steelhead, salmon and bass reel you can find.

Bauer

Junior Mac

The Junior Mac is a fully machined, large arbor, Cork/FXB polymer disc drag reel starting at $200. The reel shares many of the same features with the MacKenzie SuperLite except the reel is narrower, with a smaller arbor diameter and less porting. The JM uses a machined Delrin handle, softer line out click and a round drag adjustment knob.

The JM1 and JM2 have a fully ported frame. The JM3, JM4 and JMS have a closed frame. The reel has a deep anodized Stealth Black finish and like all Bauer reels, is manufactured in the U.S.A. The Junior Mac offers a great value and is a perfect match for the outstanding entry level rods available today.

Lamson Konic

New for 2008, Konic delivers smart design and high performance in Lamson's most affordable reel. The same super-smooth, fully sealed conical drag system and stainless roller clutch used in our more expensive reels are matched with machined components and pressure cast ALDC12 aluminum alloy spool and frame. Konic is anodized then finished with a 100% solid polyurethane coating to resist gouging and abrasion. Affordable reels just got a whole lot better.
