Meet the Cast at River & Riptide Anglers.
Our goal here at the shop is to provide local and visiting anglers with honest and open angling information. We would never want to steer anyone in the wrong direction. Whether it is product suggestions or angling information we want you to be satisfied with what you receive from us. Over the past 3 years,,, yeah can you believe it has been 3 years since our inception? We have established a long list of great & valued customers.
In addition you may find some regulars I call the Cast here at the shop or on the water. Including myself, these anglers are part of our Cast. They share the same beliefs and support the fact that honesty is our number 1 goal. If you see one of the Cast don’t be afraid to pick their brain whether in shop or on the water. They are more than willing to share experiences and knowledge with fellow anglers.

David S. Porreca Owner & President
What can I say about myself, I love to fish; This would not be possible with all that have supported River & Riptide Anglers in our endeavor. With that said, Thank you to all the anglers who support the shop and special thank to my wife Sandy for putting up with me. |

Sandy M. Porreca Owner & Vice President
All wouldn’t be possible without the loving support of my wife Sandy. Although Sandy has hung up the fly rod to raise our children she is instrumental in keeping me sane. Sandy will be once again casting to rising trout on the West Branch of the Au Sable or to breaking stripers in Cape Cod. |

Capt. Bob Hines
A man who needs no introduction, Capt Bob Hines is one of the best skinny water guides I know. Not only is Bob a great Striper fisherman he also has decades of trout fly fishing experience throughout the country. Bob has been tremendously supportive in the success of River & Riptide Anglers and is one of the most open and honest guys I know. |

Joe (BoBo) Grenon
I met Joe 3 years ago. Both he and his brother Chris have logged more hours fly fishing in the last three years than anyone I know. You’ll either find them on the water or here in Rhode Island or behind the counter at the shop. Joe has an un-dying passion for angling and helping people in any way he can. |

Chris (Gimp Dog) Grenon
If you hear two guys raving about how good the fishing is and life in general, its Chris & his brother Joe. Watch for Chris’s competitive side. He and Joe go at it all the time and we all love it. Over the past 3 years Chris and Joe have grown tremendously as fly anglers. You may even see them doing a little guiding in the future. |

Bob Greco
A life long friend and one of the best trout anglers and fly tyers I know. Bob was instrumental in starting UFT RI and has been on the board in varying capacities. Bob is the one person I know who can tie a Royal Wulff meticulously on a size 28 dry fly hook.
Bob has fished for trout with a fly all his life. He has fished all across the US and particulay favors our home town river the Wood. Bob is a featured tyer here at River & Riptide and is always generous in sharring and helping others along the way. |

John (The Doctor) Troiano
John has been a fly angler for six years. Last year John logged well over 100 days on both fresh & saltwater. His trip to Montana really set the hook in deep. His real passion is fishing the dry fly. John has become a good friend and is always willing to fish and trust me… He loves to have a good time. |

Ed (Sully) Sullivan
Ed and I have been friends for several years. You’ll find Ed fishing with us on Monday evenings as well as tying in the winter. With Ed’s busy schedule he always finds time to fish. One of the best times spent with Ed was last 2009 Steelhead trip when Ed was fighting a big fish and chased it through a hole which there was no bottom. While bouncing through the hole Ed lost the steelhead in the riffle. It was truly a seen from a River Runs Through. |
